I've heard of this site for a while now, but just this morning decided to give it a try after reading this New York Times article (free login account req'd to view articles). They have a team of people that listen to songs and analyze/rate the songs on various specific musical qualities (major/minor key tonality, instrumentation, vocal styles, etc...). You type in a band name or song name and it makes a radio station playing various songs that share the same "musical DNA." It shows you the artist and song name of what it's playing and the qualities that it shares with the band/song you typed in. Anyway, I thought it was pretty neat and thought I'd share it as I don't think I've seen it mentioned here before. Pandora edit: Just to be clear, I have no vested interest or association with this site, I just thought it was neat. |

Thanks! I hadnt seen this before. I typed in Will Ackerman and now I have a whole list of artists I'll be looking for at the music stores. |
